Health & Wellness at the CBE
At the CBE, we believe in a whole school approach to health and wellness. We call this our Comprehensive School Health (CSH) approach. CSH is about healthy eating, active living, supportive social environments and positive mental health. As a system, we focus on the following four areas: healthy eating; healthy relationships; physical activity; and positive mental health. Each school creates its own approach and goals for health and wellness.

Recess Time Participation
All students are expected to participate in outdoor recess activities. Exceptions are made when, in the opinion of administration, the weather conditions are extreme. Individual students can be exempted from recess for medical reasons. We ask that parents contact the school by phone or in writing to detail the medical concerns, so adequate provisions can be made for the child indoors.
If a student is not allowed to go outside for medical reasons, indoor supervision can also be arranged In the case of extreme weather (-20), students are supervised indoors and are allowed to participate in a range of fun activities.
