Hello Jennie Elliott Families,

Today we were fortunate to welcome Elder Randy Crane to Jennie Elliott from the Tsuut’ina Nation to spend the morning with our teaching and support staff. Elder Randy shared his knowledge and wisdom about the land on which we learn, and the medicine wheel teachings that include physical generosity and care of our environment, mental health and belonging, emotional mastery, and spiritual independence such as preservation of identity. We are so grateful to have had this opportunity and the guidance from Elder Randy in Indigenous way of belonging, being, knowing and doing to move our commitment forward as allies of truth and reconciliation.

This was also a System day of Professional Learning across CBE. For the afternoon, our teachers engaged in a variety of session offerings of their choice to further their understanding in areas such as use of the iPad for instructional and assistive support for students, using data to inform learning targets in literacy and new Science curriculum learning to name a few.

VERY IMPORTANT ACTION | 2024-25 Student Enrollment and Class Cohorts

As mentioned in last week’s update, we have a VERY important survey for each family of students in grades Kindergarten to grade 5 to complete that is critical to our planning for class sizes next year as it directly impacts staffing. The survey also includes an opportunity for families to provide input about the optimal learning environment for your child. The survey takes approximately 5 minutes to complete and we ask to have all forms submitted by April 26, 2024, regardless of whether your child will be returning to Jennie Elliott next year, or not.

We would also like all families to refer to the Class Cohorts FAQ before completing the form that will answer many of the questions we are often asked. Please complete one form per student in your family.
