Hello Jennie Elliott Families,

The Weekly Update was postponed to attend the Jennie’s Night Out event on Friday.  It was a fabulous event organized by the Jennie Elliott Parent School Association to raise funds for our school and students as well as bring the parents of our Jennie Elliott school community together for a fun social evening. Thank you to the organizers for your time, efforts and commitment to the event, and to all of you for the various ways in which you supported the fundraising efforts. It was such an amazing success and so much fun to attend!

Family Groupings Rotation #2

On Friday, students moved into their second rotation of Family Groupings with a new group of students and a new teacher. There was much excitement in the hallways, both on their way to meet their new class, and on their way back to class as they shared their experiences with each other. If you are in the school anytime soon, come check out the beautiful collaborative artwork our whole school participated in during the last rotation of Family Groupings. It is proudly displayed in our office and adds the perfect touch to that space!

Solar Eclipse

Today, a partial solar eclipse will be visible in Calgary. We will be taking extra precautions for the safety of our students by having an indoor lunch recess, and all blinds will be closed to the outside for the duration from 11:50am-1:50pm.

Information about this was sent to parents by the CBE last week. In case you missed it, you can read more about it here:

Wild Hat and Hair Day

On Wednesday, April 10, we invite all students to participate in Wild Hat and Hair Spirit Day. Whether it's a crazy hat creation or funky hairdo, we encourage students to showcase their individuality and have a blast with it! Participation, as always, is entirely optional. If your child prefers not to join in, they can come to school in their regular attire. Please also remind your children that we celebrate individuality and it's important to respect others' style choices and differences. Parents, you are always welcome to join in the fun! Thank you for your continued support in making JES a vibrant and inclusive community.

Surveys

To better represent and promote the diversity of our students’ unique backgrounds, perspectives and abilities, we are gathering some information from each of our families. We thank you in advance for answering 4 very short questions in our We All Belong at Jennie Elliott survey that should take no more than 3 minutes to complete. Thank you to all of our families who have completed this survey already. We have 74 responses so far.
