Hello Jennie Elliott families,

On behalf of our staff, I would like to thank families for participating in our November School Conferences this week. The opportunity to connect with families, celebrate student progress, and collaborate on strategies to support their ongoing development is invaluable. We appreciate the time families have taken at this busy time of year to foster the open communication and partnership between home and school for our students.  Our hope is that the conversations around the dinner table, or the afterschool question, “What did you do in school today?” might have greater meaning now that you have some examples for both you and your child to reflect on.

School Council Meeting

We look forward to seeing families out at the School Council meeting next week on Tuesday, December 3 at 7pm. The grade 4 team will be sharing “A day in the life of a grade 4 student at Jennie Elliott” and we’ll have the usual school updates to report. School Council representatives will also be sharing updates on the various events they are organizing. If you are only able to attend online, please Click here to attend Council Meeting Via Microsoft Teams. All families are welcome and encouraged to attend!

Lacrosse Residency

Our Lacrosse residency these past few weeks was a resounding success with all of our students, even our young Kinders! Many students expressed this was a new skill they hadn’t learned before and are looking forward to the next time they can play Lacrosse to test out their new skills in PEW class. Thank you for the Casino funds raised and provided through JEPSA for this amazing opportunity for our students!

Lost and Found

We made a pretty good dent in the lost and found during School Conferences, but there are still many items that need to find their way home. You are welcome to take the opportunity to look through them in our Lost and Found bins anytime.

Dress for the Weather

At the CBE, we generally have four reasons why we would have indoor recesses – it is too cold outside (colder than -20), too hot outside, the air quality index suggests outdoor activities should be restricted, or there is a safety hazard on the playground. Other than those reasons, we tend to have outdoor recesses to provide the students with a fresh air movement break. Please ensure that students arrive at school each day with appropriate outdoor gear for all types of weather, rain and snow included.
