Hello Jennie Elliott families,

Today we celebrated our Jennie Elliott volunteers at the Volunteer Tea! This is always one of the highlights of the year as it is truly a collaborative labour of love as we all pull together to celebrate our most precious resource – our volunteers. For those who were able to make it, and those who were not, we want to extend our sincere thanks to every one of you for your commitment to working together to grow our already vibrant and supportive community for our students. Your involvement not only demonstrates to your children the value of working towards a common goal, but also highlights for them the impact of community service. We are truly grateful to all of you!

Staff Farewells

We would like to take this opportunity to say farewell to some of our staff members who are moving on to new adventures beyond CBE and Jennie Elliott:

  • Michelle Dozak, our grade 3 teacher, is retiring after 27 years of service with the CBE. Michelle held a variety of roles throughout her career, including teacher, specialist, Assistant Principal and Principal. We were so fortunate that our students have been able to benefit from Michelle’s exceptional warmth, creativity and dedication to her students’ learning during her time at Jennie Elliott. The impact she has had on their growth and love of learning will be truly missed, but we wish her much joy and happiness in her new endeavours.
  • Ms Laurel Austman, our grade 4 teacher, quietly retired earlier this year after 30 years with CBE and is enjoying her newfound time exploring new hobbies.
  • Mr Trent Dunlop, our Phys Ed and Wellness teacher has resigned from CBE to spend some time travelling home to Australia to be with his family and venture into new career avenues.
  • Ms Caley Wolf, our Resource Teacher, has resigned from CBE to start a new role.  She will be working with a program that is still affiliated with various school boards in and around Calgary supporting the mental health needs of young children in classrooms.
  • Ms Nichole Morrison who has been on a maternity leave of absence for the past few years will be leaving Jennie Elliott after extending her leave of absence to be home with her children.
  • Ms Trish Powell has decided to move to a part-time position to be home with her family more. While we are sad we couldn’t keep Ms Powell in a part-time role at Jennie Elliott, we are thrilled for her to share her love of teaching with the students at West Dover School next year.
  • Ms Yuliia Terzian, our Lunchroom Supervisor, has resigned from CBE to pursue a new role at the Welcome Centre.

We wish all of our staff the very best and are grateful for their time and expertise shared with us at Jennie Elliott. We will share with families closer to the end of the school year the new members that will be joining our staff once the staffing rounds are completed.
