Welcome Back!

Welcome new and returning Jennie Elliott families!

I hope you had a wonderful summer taking advantage of sunny days, enjoying time with family and friends, or however you find your joy. We look forward to the start of the year and welcoming our students back to school. Ms. Small and I have been busy arranging for school startup, including our first meeting today with teachers. Many of our staff have already been in the past few weeks arranging classrooms, attending professional learning sessions with CBE and getting settled in for the 2023-24 school year.

Back to School!

Families will hear from your child’s teacher by email on August 29th. Classes resume on August 31st.

Our instructional start time of 9:05 am and our end time of 3:41 pm has not changed. We will resume our “soft entry" time; however, the soft entry will start 5 minutes later than last year at 8:55 am.

Two separate lunch times will again be provided. 

Information Handbook

For our new and returning families, we have created a Jennie Elliott Information Handbook that we hope you find a helpful reference. We thank you in advance for your feedback to help make this document as user-friendly as possible for our school community.

First Day of School

On the first day of school, students are asked to go to their grade location in the school field to find their teachers. Grade numbers and teacher names will be identified with a sign on the fence. We thank you for your cooperation in saying your good-byes outside the school before teachers take their students into class.

Photo Booths

We are excited to set up Photo Booths for families who want to take First Day of School photos of their child(ren) this year! You are welcome to use these photo booths (with your own cameras) before and after school on the first day of school. We will set them up on the school walls near the Kindergarten, grade 5, grade 1 and grade 2/3 doors.

Staff Updates

During the summer, we bid farewell to Carla Olsen (lunchroom supervisor) and Amber Melindy (grade one teacher) who have both resigned from CBE in pursuit of new directions and locations for their careers. We thank both Carla and Amber for their dedication to supporting our students at Jennie Elliott.

Save the date: “Meet the Teacher"

On Thursday, September 14 from 4:00-6:00 pm is Jennie Elliott’s Meet the Teacher night. This is an opportunity to meet your child’s teacher, learn a bit more about the year ahead and tour the school. We have also ordered food trucks for those who would like to turn it into a dinner date with others of the Jennie Elliott school community. We have been promised they will be sending more trucks than last year! More information to come.

We are looking forward to a fun, and busy year ahead with lots of opportunities for program enhancements for our students and community building events for our families! We want to extend our sincere gratitude to all families for your support with the transition back to school. Your partnership in your child's education is very important to us and vital to your child's success.
