Hello Jennie Elliott families,

Our school community came together today for a thoughtful Remembrance Day assembly to honour those who have served and continue to serve. We heard the poem by a group of grade 5 students, listened to the trumpet play The Last Post and Reveille (thank you to Ms. Lacey’s husband), recognized a minute of silence and listened to the Canadian folk song, A Pittance of Time. We appreciate this opportunity provides for our students to recognize the need for respect and empathy as we reflect on the importance of peace and gratitude.

Fall Break – Nov. 10-12

A reminder, Fall break will proceed as scheduled. Please note, there is no school on November 10, 11 and 12. Classes will resume on November 13.

Veteran’s Food Bank

Our Veteran’s Food Bank collection is already filling up! To support our veterans who have sacrificed for our country, families are invited to send non-perishable food items to the collection boxes in our front foyer until November 14th.

Jacket Racket Donations Needed!

In the spirit of building a sense of belonging to our greater community, Jennie Elliott School is excited to be collecting donations of clean, gently used coats, snow pants, hats and mittens for Jacket Racket this year.  Donations will be collected in boxes in the front hallway from November 17 - to first thing in the morning on November 20, 2025.

Jacket Racket has been providing clean, gently used winter jackets to Calgary children since the 1980’s. Donations are collected, sorted and distributed by a group of dedicated volunteers. The distribution is done through the Calgary Board of Education and the Calgary Catholic School District. In advance, thank you for your support of this incredible initiative.
